Helm Behavioral Wellness logo, NYC therapy practice specializing in CBT and ERP for anxiety and OCD

Therapy that’s structured, science-backed, and works in the real world.

At Helm, we specialize in evidence-based therapy. Our approach is practical, goal-oriented, and tailored to each client, not one-size-fits-all.

A structured, collaborative approach for kids, teens, and adults.

We work with clients navigating OCD and anxiety that can look like:

● Avoidance patterns and school refusal
● Perfectionism and emotional dysregulation
● Postpartum transitions and identity shifts
● Life changes like relocation, college, or career stress

All sessions are grounded in evidence-based treatments like CBT, ERP, SPACE, and DBT-informed methods. Therapy is present-focused and skills-based, with an emphasis on building tools that work far beyond the session.

Supportive parenting strategies that shift patterns without needing your child in the room.

SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is a parent-only treatment that helps improve anxiety-driven dynamics at home.

This approach is ideal for:
● Parents of kids who are resistant to therapy
● Families stuck in reassurance-seeking or emotional outbursts
● Parents who feel like they’re walking on eggshells around their child’s anxiety or OCD
● Caregivers wanting to reduce their own stress while supporting their child’s growth
We’ll help you respond more effectively, set clearer boundaries, and support your child’s long-term independence.

For families and individuals who need traction quickly, our intensives are short-term, high-frequency programs designed around a specific goal. Instead of meeting once a week, intensives meet multiple times per week for 2–4 weeks and are built around a specific goal.

This format is ideal for:
● Clients or families with limited time (like school breaks or relocations)
● Kids or adults stuck in avoidant patterns
● Clients who’ve plateaued in weekly therapy
● Those who need traction fast, with clear structure
