Jasmine Salonga

Licensed Master Social Worker

Jasmine sees clients in Brooklyn Heights, Manhattan, and online. She is a compassionate and dedicated mental health professional with a focus on helping children and adolescents navigate the complexities of growing up. Her approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. She believes in creating a safe, supportive environment where children and adolescents can feel heard and understood. Whether addressing anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral issues, or life transitions, her goal is to help young people build the skills they need to thrive both now and in the future.

She specializes in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based treatment that empowers children and teens to understand and challenge negative thought patterns. CBT is particularly effective for addressing issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral difficulties, as it teaches individuals how to shift unhelpful thoughts and behaviors to more positive, constructive ones. Through this approach, she works with clients to enhance their emotional regulation, problem-solving abilities, and overall resilience.

She takes a holistic, strengths-based approach, which means she not only focuses on the challenges her clients face, but also on their existing strengths and coping mechanisms. She collaborates closely with families, schools, and other support systems to ensure a comprehensive, coordinated approach to care. She helps parents and caregivers develop effective strategies to support their child’s emotional and behavioral growth, both in and out of the therapy setting. She aims to foster a nonjudgmental and empathetic environment where they can feel safe to explore their feelings and concerns. Her goal is to provide young people with the tools they need to face life’s challenges with confidence and resilience.

With a strong commitment to social justice, she strives to make mental health care accessible to all families, particularly those who may face systemic barriers. She believes in creating an inclusive and supportive space where children, teens, and families feel heard, respected, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.

Jasmine provides therapy in English and Tagalog.
